On Thursday Delhi reported its highest single-day positive COVID-19 cases with over 1000 new cases which took the total to over 16000 cases. With the 1024 new cases, there are now 8470 active cases and 316 people have lost their lives in Delhi.
- Hon’ble Health Minister, Delhi took daily review meetings with officers of the Health department, DGHS, CDMOs, and Medical directors of Dedicated Delhi Govt. Hospitals for COVID-19, to review the status of COVID-19 situation in Delhi.
- Hon’ble Health Minister, Delhi reviewed the status of CATS ambulances in a meeting, with Pr Secretary Health, Directors CATS, and other officers.
- A meeting of Empowered Group was held to discuss the status of preparedness and implementation of COVID-19 response activities.
- District wise nodal officers from the Health Department have been nominated, to coordinate with nodal officers of the revenue department for the supply of essential items to COVID-19 patient’s families, under Home Isolation.
The sharp spike has led to the neighboring state Haryana closing their borders to reduce the spread.
Delhi has one of the highest cases of COVID-19 in the country. Of the 16281 cases, 7495 people have recovered while 8470 cases are still active. There have been 316 reported deaths in Delhi, an increase of 13 deaths from Wednesday. Of the active cases, 4227 cases are those who are recovering at home, 2196 people are admitted in hospitals and 129 are in dedicated COVID centers. 197 people are in the ICU while 31 people are on ventilators.
