India witnessed the biggest jump in daily coronavirus count with 9,304 people testing positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases in the country increased to 216,919, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu continued to record a high number of coronavirus cases while Delhi saw the biggest spike in COVID-19 count on in last 24 hours.

India's tally of coronavirus cases has crossed 2.16 lakh after a record number of 9,304 people tested positive for the deadly virus infection in the last 24 hours. The total cases in the country stood at 2,16,919, including 6,075 deaths, Union Health Ministry data shows.
WHO announced on Wednesday that clinical trials of the drug hydroxychloroquine will resume as it searches for potential coronavirus treatments. The WHO had said last month that it had temporarily suspended the trials to conduct a safety review, which has now concluded there is “no reason” to change the way the trials are conducted.
Globally, 64,30,800 people have been infected with the highly contagious virus.
